Bridal
Shower Decorations - Centerpiece Ideas
Using
colorful plates, napkins and favors
coordinated with an appropriately
colored centerpiece will create a
festive table.
Whether your centerpiece is a flower
arrangement, pinata, towel cake, balloons
or a decorative cookie display, it
should make a 'special occasion' statement.
Use
color contrasts to add impact to your
table centerpieces.
For instance, an arrangement of white
roses would not stand out on a white
tablecloth even with a fair amount of
green foliage. However, white roses
in a plain glass vase can look striking
on a dark blue tablecloth.
If you are using a multi-colored container,
restrict your flowers to shades of one
or two colors only, so that the effect
is not too busy.
Sprinkle
confetti on the table for a festive
look.
Beach
theme:
Set potted plants inside colorful beach
pails.
Garden
theme:
Use a straw hat with silk flowers round
the brim.
Afternoon
tea:
Fill a colorful teapot with a flower
bouquet.
Beach
shower:
Use a coffeepot with a mixed bunch of
blooms and tie a bow around the handle.
Victorian
theme:
Use a hatbox as your base and lean the
cover against one side with a note on
the cover, such as "Best Wishes
to Julie!"
Victorian theme:
Set a doily under a silver bowl of flowers.
Victorian
theme:
Wrap terra cotta pots in tulle or silver
foil and line them down the center of
a long table.
Movie
theme:
Place three colorful bowls in the center
of your table, each filled with different
flavored popcorn.
Country-western
theme:
Set a terra cotta pot of flowers inside
a western hat, and tie a bandana around
the pot.
Cooking
theme:
Consider potted herbs as part of your
table decoration.
Use
colored glass marbles in vase bases
to add interest.
Glass marbles are also useful to hide
the rubber bands used to hold a bunch
of flowers together.
No
flowers available? Wrap three or four
colorful gift boxes of different sizes,
stack on top of each other in an asymmetrical
pattern (smallest on top) and decorate
with silk flowers on top and on the
flat surfaces that show.
NOTE:
Remember
to decorate the gift-opening ceremony
area too!
